INDIANAPOLIS — The Annex Group has hired Matt Keane as vice president of public-private partnerships (P3) and promoted Matt Zetzl to the role of P3 development manager. Keane will provide business development and partnership solutions while leading the Indianapolis-based firm’s P3 team. Zetzl will be responsible for P3 procurement and advancing Annex’s P3 community impact plans.

Eric Thorsen

DENVER — Atlas Real Estate, a Denver-based owner and operator of single-family rental (SFR) and build-to-rent assets, has promoted Eric Thorsen to the position of chief investment officer. In his new role, Thorsen will oversee the firm’s investment strategy, including joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management and data strategy. He joined Atlas Real Estate as an analyst and has since helped execute about $2 billion in SFR transactions.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — William Pulte, director of the United States Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), has replaced several members of the governing boards of government-sponsored entities (GSEs) Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. The removals were announced through regulatory filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on March 17.  According to The Wall Street Journal, Pulte removed eight members of the board of Fannie Mae. The removed board members were Amy Alving, Christopher Brummer, Michael Heid, Simon Johnson, Diane Lye, Diane Nordin, Chetlur Ragavan and Michael Seelig. CHICAGO — Lument has added Todd Stofflet to the firm’s real estate investment sales team as a managing director. Based in Chicago, Stofflet will focus on multifamily deals in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. He joins Lument from Walker & Dunlop, where he led the firm’s Midwest Investment Sales team. Prior to this, Stofflet served as a managing director at Cushman & Wakefield, which he joined when the company acquired KIG CRE in 2018.

CHICAGO — Daniel Levin, founder and chairman of Chicago-based developer and property manager Habitat Co., has passed away at the age of 94. Levin founded the company in 1971 to manage a series of housing projects totaling 25,000 units across several states, including South Commons, a 28-acre urban renewal project on Chicago’s South Side.
