SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — Woodfield Development and PGIM have begun construction of Nexton Townhomes, a 114-unit build-to-rent community that comprises the second phase of the developers’ Radler project in Summerville. Both communities are located in Downtown Nexton, a 4,500-acre master-planned development located approximately 25 miles northwest of Charleston along the I-26 corridor.
Designed for walkability, Nexton includes residential neighborhoods, approximately 100,000 square feet of dining and retail space, commercial and office development and a network of parks and trails. At full buildout, expected to occur approximately within the next five to 10 years, Nexton will include about 8,500 single-family and multifamily residences, 700 acres of commercial space, 2,000 acres of parks and preserved land and 15 miles of walking trails.
The Nexton Townhomes project team includes Housing Studio as architect, Center Park Group as general contractor, S. Wilkins Interior Design overseeing interiors and Seamon Whiteside providing civil engineering and landscape architecture services.
The Radler, with 324 units, opened in 2024. Nexton Townhomes is slated for completion by late 2027. Renters will have several floor plan options from which to choose as well as access to the amenity program at The Radler.
Features include a pool, rooftop lounge, fitness center, outdoor fitness lawn, spin studio, conference and coworking spaces, game room, landscaped courtyard with gas grills and dining areas, pickleball courts and an outdoor amphitheater.
