WINTER PARK, FLA. — Hillpointe LLC, a developer headquartered in the Orlando, Florida suburb of Winter Park, has appointed Will Bohn to the role of managing director, asset management. Prior to joining Hillpointe, Bohn served as senior vice president of asset management at Simply Self Storage. NEW YORK CITY — Ofer Cohen of New York City-based brokerage firm TerraCRG, as well as Tucker Reed and Vivian Liao of Brooklyn-based developer Totem Brooklyn, have launched Ailanthus, a platform that aims to create 10,000 apartments in New York City over the next five years. MADISON AND MILWAUKEE, WIS. — A court-appointed receiver has retained Affordable Housing Investment Brokerage (AHIB) to secure new ownership for portions of Heartland Housing’s Wisconsin portfolio. Heartland Housing was an affordable housing developer and a subsidiary of Heartland Alliance. The non-profit developer went out of business in 2023. The portfolio comprises 166 affordable housing units across five properties in Madison and Milwaukee. Cinnaire Solutions acquired the two properties in Madison, Rethke Terrace and Tree Lane Apartments. Rethke Terrace was built in 2016 and comprises 60 units. Tree Lane Apartments is …

BIRMINGHAM, ALA. — Capstone Development Partners has hired Jordan Gaston to the new leadership role of vice president, head of workforce housing. In this role, Gaston will take part in the company’s efforts to expand its business into the financing, development and operation of workforce housing. CHICAGO — Peak Realty, a Chicago-based firm that specializes in multifamily leasing and investment, has rebranded to Cross Street. The firm expanded to Denver last year with the opening of a second office. According to the company, the name “Cross Street” represents the important connections and intersecting parts of life and business. In five years, the Cross Street team has doubled, with more than 12,000 units leased and over $200 million in closed multifamily sales. Cross Street plans to expand to more markets, particularly urban areas.
