DENVER — Avanti Residential has selected Richard Bennion as Managing Director. In this role, Bennion will be responsible for strategic growth and institutional capital relationships. Bennion most recently worked at PEF Advisors, where he led the capital formation of a $100 million fund focused on affordable housing and was a member of the company’s senior leadership team and investment committee. Prior to joining PEF Advisors, he worked at Carmel Partners. Bennion received a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Brigham Young University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — A joint venture between Formativ and Argosy Real Estate Partners has secured construction financing for The Hunter, a 214-unit development in Colorado Springs’ New South End neighborhood. Rob Bova of JLL Capital Markets led the team that arranged the loan. The Hunter will offer studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plans. Amenities include a two-story tenant lounge, golf simulator, pool, fitness center, co-working space, bike storage, dog wash station and a parking garage. The seven-story building will be completed in late 2024.

DENVER — Apartment Investment and Management Co. (Aimco) has appointed Sherry Rexroad to its board of directors. Rexroad has been appointed to Aimco’s audit, compensation and human resources, investment, nominating and ESG Committees. Rexroad most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of STORE Capital, a publicly traded net-lease REIT. Prior to that, she worked at BlackRock Global Real Asset Securities as global head of business development, as well as co-global chief investment officer and chair of the investment committee.
DENVER — NorthPeak Commercial Advisors brokered the sale of two apartment buildings at 1410 N Marion St. and 1321 E 14th Ave. in Denver. The two properties were acquired by an undisclosed investment group for $10 million. According to Apartments.com, the buildings were built in 1896 and rise three stories. The buyer is planning to renovate all 40 units. Greg Johnson and Conner Piretti represented the buyer and seller in this transaction. The seller, which had owned the property for 40 years prior to the sale, was also not disclosed.
