HOUSTON — Hanover Co. and Mitsui Fudosan American have wrapped construction of Buffalo Bayou, a 40-story high-rise set within the 14-acre Autry Park mixed-use development in Houston. Autry Park sits about two miles west of downtown Houston along the western edge of the 160-acre Buffalo Bayou Park. Locally based developer Hanover Co. and Boston-based partner Lionstone Investments are Autry Park’s master developers.
Buffalo Bayou consists of 317 units and 5,000 square feet of retail space. It joins two other existing multifamily communities, Hanover Autry Park, a 24-story, 324-unit complex, and Hanover Parkview, an eight-story, 422-unit community. Both opened in 2022.
Amenities at Buffalo Bayou include a landscaped courtyard with a resort-style pool, a firepit area, barbecue stations for outdoor grilling and cabana seating. The clubhouse features a demonstration kitchen, a fitness center, a cinema with stadium seating, gaming activities and televisions. Residents also have access to a lobby lounge area and a business center.
In May, the developers announced plans for Autry Park One, which will consist of approximately 117,000 square feet of office space and an additional 10,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
Several restaurants have opened since the development was announced in 2020, including Annabelle Brasserie, Turner’s Cut, Doko, Bar Doko, Annam, Mayahuel, DUO Café and Lick Honest Ice Creams. Retail tenants include Piermarini, Sloan/Hall, South to North and Coma Salon. Still within its initial phase of development, Autry Park’s masterplan includes five towers encompassing approximately 1,450 residential units, 350,000 square feet of office space and approximately 100,000 square feet of retail all situated around a central greenspace. Mitsui Fudosan America is the U.S. subsidiary of Japanese real estate company Mitsui Fudosan Co.
